Christmas

It is hard to believe that Christmas has already came and gone. How time flies by! On Christmas Eve we went to my mom's house and did Christmas with Mamaw which was fun and exhausting. Seeing Cameron get into presents and tearing paper off was so neat. Tyler was a little hesitant at first but once he figured it out he really got into it.

Then came Christmas Day and Santa. Tyler woke up at 7:30 and came into our bedroom which was fine but we had to keep him in there until Cameron woke up which was at 8:00. Once he was up all the fun and excitement started.

Here are some pictures from both the Mamaw's and our house. Enjoy!

Christmas--Early

My mother in-law said that the boys probably feel like there are 12 days of Christmas since they have already had Christmas twice. They will celebrate with the sitter on Tuesday and my mom's on Wednesday and then Christmas day with us. On Friday they celebrated with Betty and Granny. They had such a good time. They got Elmo Live (really neat by the way), cute clothes, Walle movie and Thomas the train movie which Tyler is watching as we speak.

On Saturday night we celebrated Christmas with my in-laws. The boys got some more goodies. Disney clothes, Disney matching game for Tyler, Cameron got a helicopter that he loves.

Here are some pictures that I took at the in-laws.

Speech

I met with First Steps on Tuesday to see if Cameron qualifies to get speech therapy services. We just went over everything he can and can't do to see where we stood. He can say momma, ball, and bye bye that's about it. I think that he wants to talk but he just needs someone or something to draw it out of him. He does a lot of uh, uhs. We will see.

First steps is supposed to set up an appointment to go and watch him in his environment and determine if he qualifies and then if he does I will get to pick a therapist for him.

Hearing

Cameron had his hearing and everything is GREAT!! I really wasn't sure about his hearing since he has had so many ear infections and not to mention he doesn't talk a lot. So our next step is to get with a speech therapist to see if he needs some therapy.

15 Month Checkup

Cameron had his 15 month check-up on Tuesday. Cameron is growing, growing, and growing. He weighed 26 lbs 9.5 Oz and 33 3/4 inches long. He is in the 77% for his weight and 98% for his height. Of course he gets that height from his daddy!

One thing we did find out at the doctor's visit is that Cameron is not talking at where he should be. I thought he wasn't where he should be but I wasn't sure. At this moment he can say momma, ball, bite (more like bi, bi). Sometimes he will try to say bye bye and will say Dada every once in a while. That being said he is going to get his hearing check first to make sure he is hearing okay and then we might be going to first steps for speech. They aren't sure about the hearing because he has had so many ear infections.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to EAT and spend time with family. That is the time that we get to have time with my extended family. I get to see my aunts and uncles and cousins that I don't see anytime of the year. We went to my aunts house this year and had a good time. They got to see how much Cameron loves to eat unlike his brother.

Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving gathering. Enjoy!

Oh yeah..Cameron got into my aunt's dogs kennel.

Hospital Stay

Tyler got out of UK on Saturday afternoon for his video EEG monitoring. He did a lot better than what I thought he would do. When we first arrived they decided to do some blood work to make sure everything was okay there, which is was. They also put an IV in just in case they needed. Finally they came and put the leads on around 1:15 on Thursday. He was monitored Thursday, Friday, and part of the day on Saturday. He didn't have a full blown seizure while we were there which is really good. He did have 1 event and some spikes and waves which lead to a full blown seizure.

The doctor on call decided to stop his current medication since it was causing some aggression and mood swings. So right now he is medicine less...I don't know if that is such a good idea. They wanted to do a "trial" period off of the medicine to see if he is doing better being off of the medicine he was on. I anticipate them putting him on some other medications soon. We will have to wait and see.

Here are some pictures from the hospital. Doesn't he look pitiful!

Tyler

Yesterday was a rough day for Tyler. On the way home from Nana's (daycare) he had a seizure in the car. I just happened to look back and notice he was shaking, eyes were blinking really fast, and his mouth was drawn up on the left side. I said Tyler three times and no response at all. So I pulled over on Man-O-War where there is really no where to pull over and got out of the car. By that time he finally quit seizing. He had bitten the bottom of his lip and it was bleeding. It was quite a scary moment for me let alone him.

This Thursday can't come soon enough to see exactly what is going on...He goes into UK Children's Hospital for the Epilepsy Program.

Scooter

Cameron has been able to walk for quite sometime but before he could walk he would "scoot" on his butt. He could crawl like most babies but he just couldn't get around fast enough for him. So enjoy this video of him scooting...

Tyler

Frustration....I went to Northern Elementary to try and get Tyler into Early Start Program to get some more structure than what he already receives at an in-home day care. Well he is not eligible since he is not behind enough to qualify. Children have to be almost a year behind in 4 certain areas. He is only 5 months behind in the self-help area. For his communication skills he is very advanced. He is at a 4 1/2 5 year old communication level. I was trying to get him in with his epilepsy to see if that would help him branch out a little bit.

I guess I will have to wait until he goes to Kindergarten!!

Halloween Pics

Tyler is a little golfer practicing his swing and Cameron went as a sock monkey. How cute are they....

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween boys! This year we went trick or treating at Mamaw Teresa's house. Since she just had to see the boys in their costumes. Tyler wasn't really into the whole concept--he cried and didn't want to do it. I pushed on and he relaxed a little bit. He just doesn't understand what is fully going on yet. He is only 3. Cameron was game for just about anything except for wearing his sock monkey hat.

Tyler

More medical issues with Tyler....He made a trip to the pediatrician a couple of weeks ago with a swollen lymph node in his neck on the left side. So he requested a CBC and a liver count check. Everything was fine there but we still didn't know what was causing the lymph nod to swell. He hadn't been coughing or anything. It just kinda popped up!

This past Thursday night it was still there and he was complaining of it hurting his neck. I took him to the pediatrician again. We did another CBC count and that was fine. He decided to put him on an antibiotic to see if it will make it go down. Guess what...it is still there. Next step will be to take x-rays of it and see exactly what it is. He is definitely my sickly child. God love him...

Monster Jeep

We bought this Jeep for Tyler for his birthday and he really enjoys it. He has been wanting to drive it everyday so we are trying to get the use out of it before it gets too cold and we have to put it up.

Check out this cute video!

Eating

As most of you know that Cameron LOVES to eat. He will eat anything from toast to a raw onion and loves it. So I thought I would capture him doing what else but eating. Here he is eating a cupcake. YUMM!

Fall Day

Today we went to Bi-Water Farms in Georgetown to see all of the pumpkins, the farms animals, hay rides.... Tyler had so much fun that he really didn't want to leave. We went to Boyd's Orchard in late September so we decided to go somewhere different. I have to say that I enjoyed Boyd's Orchard better. It is just big enough to have a lot of fun and enjoy yourself without being overwhelmed. Pictures to come later...hopefully. I forgot my camera so I took them on Troy's cell phone.

Week of medical issues

Not only are we dealing with Tyler and his epilepsy but we are also dealing with Cameron's ear infections. Cameron has had an ear infection since September 3rd that won't seem to go away. He has been on two oral antibiotics so this week when I took him in on Monday they gave him Rosefen (antibiotic shot). We then had to go on Wednesday and Friday. Not a good week.

As far as other medical issues are concerned...I found out on Monday that I have a Hypo Thyroid and I was put on Synthroid. Your thyroid levels should be between .47 and 5.01 well mine was 9.26! Hopefully it will be under control soon.

Medical

As many of you know Tyler was diagnosed with frontal lobe seizures in June. Since then he was put on Keppra for epilepsy. Trying to determine whether or not he is having a seizure is difficult with the type that he has. So his neurologist is putting him in UK Children's Hospital on November 20th for 3 to 5 days to do a video EEG to see exactly what is going on.

First Blog

I decided to set up a blog so that friends and family can be connected to us and watch us change over time. So I hope that you enjoy some of our posts and pictures of the boys as they continue to grow.
